• Head out of Dumfries on the Solway Coast road (A710) towards New Abbey, passing through the village of Islesteps.
• 1.65 miles after the bridge following 30mph sign in Islesteps take the turning up to the right marked Mabie Forest and Mabie House Hotel.
• Follow the road up until you get to the sign for Mabie House Hotel, bear left and follow the signs for “Marthrown of Mabie” between a white building and a wooden one, past the bike hire shop and through the gate onto the forest track ignoring the sign saying "No unauthorised vehicles" (Speed limit 15mph).
• Proceed up the track for exactly a mile where you will find us on the left.
