Marthrown Yurt - sleeps up to 4.
New to our site in June 2008 is our Mongolian Yurt (or Ger to give it its correct name). It has already proved very popular with couples, small groups and families interested in 'Glamping' in Mabie Forest in Dumfries and Galloway, southern Scotland.
The centrepiece of the Yurt is a very effective wood burning stove which has an oven in which you can rustle up a tasty meal.

There is also a 2 ring gas cooker with a grill and all pots and pans are provided. The “kitchen unit” is to die for (at least I think it is!!) constructed lovingly by our handyman Steve from hazel with a sycamore top it really looks the part. If you don’t want to cook, meals are available down at the bunkhouse – please pre-order.

in torrential rain we changed plan and stayed 2 nights in the yurt –
blissfully warm, dry and excellent value. We cooked a roast in the oven

It has a double sofa bed and two single beds, table and chairs and a range of books and games.
Electricity is a 12 volt system to provide lights.

The Yurt is tucked away in its own secluded area with BBQ and its own picnic table.
