Welcome to Marthrown of Mabie

Marthrown of Mabie is right in the heart of the forest, away from the hustle and bustle of the world - a uniquely rustic environment in a breathtaking setting, Although only a few miles from the region's capital town of Dumfries, Marthrown of Mabie is completely surrounded by forest and this makes the sounds of modern life disappear. Marthrown of Mabie is a great spot to relax and unwind, with a sauna and hot tub on site.
Marthrown is not the place for "White Gloves" but we do have a uniquely breathtaking and beautiful environment !

How to find us
You can follow your satnav as far as Islesteps but after that please follow these instructions as you may end up at a locked gate !!
At the end of a long stretch of road approx 1 mile past Islesteps turn right signposted Mabie Forest and Mabie House Hotel
Proceed a mile up the tarmac drive until you can see Mabie House Hotel.
The road bears left then turn immediately right between a wooden building (Forestry Offices) and a white building - you are then going onto the forest track
Ignore the sign which says "No Unauthorised Access" - you are coming here therefore authorised!
Drive for a mile up the track going straight across at the crossroads until you reach us - car park on the right bunkhouse on the left
If you have any problems please ring on 01387 247900 and we'll talk you in !

Arriving in torrential rain we changed plan and stayed 2 nights in the yurt – blissfully warm, dry and excellent value. We cooked a roast in the oven and walked in the forest. We’ll be back for a longer stay. Thanks for your kindness and welcome”
